Parents of Bride – Dick and Janice Schremmer
Wedding: October 4, 2014

As a little girl, my daughter dreamed of having her wedding reception, dinner and dance at the Petroleum Club. So, booking the club was an emotional decision. But it proved to be a very wise choice. The venue comes with a wedding planner, Kathy Latham, and her expertise is invaluable. Our planning sessions were relaxing, informative and productive. Her excellent vendor recommendations gave us confidence and made the event run smoothly.

The food was excellent! Guests were fed three times. The club provided delicious shrimp and other finger foods while we waited for the bridal party to enter. Our dinner was a delicious buffet, then toward the end of the party, here came delicious snacks. I had a friend come up and tell me it was like being on a cruise ship!

All the decorations were beautiful, and the DJ entertained and played music without overwhelming the party. I was grateful to have such a huge space for a large crowd to enjoy the Wedding March, which my husband and I led.

The Petroleum Club was so accommodating, including special requests – from a pink-lemonade drink to a family friend playing his fiddle. The staff took care of the wedding gifts and cards, safely locking them away once everyone arrived.

Kathy had everything timed perfectly – the reception, bridal-party entrance, toasts, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss. She knew when to serve the food and kept the drinks flowing. I did not have to orchestrate anything. I could just enjoy the company of family and friends while watching my daughter and her new husband enjoy their party. Kathy’s ability to make things work easily continued to the morning after. My husband and I went to pick up the gifts and other items we’d left behind, and Kathy had it all ready for us. Easy cheesy!
